Although self taught on piano, at the age of eighteen

Martin studied under Alex Mlynarski (a national treasure living in Seattle).

 Alex could trace his teaching lineage back through Stojowski, Paderewski,

Czerny back to Beethoven and Haydn.

This makes Martin only five degrees of separation from Beethoven.

The funny thing is he still has no need to read

music as all the music he plays comes from within.
